Life hacks for parents we refuse to live without

Life hacks for parents make the whole idea of raising little humans just a little easier. Here are some of our favourite smart tips to help make life an easier journey with kids.

Best life hacks for parents

Plan your to-do list by how long it takes to complete the tasks

Your beleaguered memory needs a little break from time to time, and this is a life hack for parents we can’t do without. By giving your items on your to-do list a time-based label, you’ll be more efficient and effective. You can also make use of electronic apps to help you keep track of what needs to be done.

Use a dish drainer to organise colouring supplies

You can slide colouring books into the slots of a plastic dish drainer to make it easier to store these items neatly. Crayons and markers can go into the attached cutlery drying cup. This way, your supplies will be contained, ordered, and easy to move from point A to point B.

Keep your kids from rolling out the bed with a pool noodle

If your kid is an active sleeper, this is one of the best life hacks for parents. If you’re worried that your little human will roll out of his or her bed, just wedge a pool noodle along the bed’s edge between the mattress and the fitted sheet. The resulting bump should be enough of a barrier to keep your kiddo in the bed throughout the night.

Invest in painters tape

If masking tape and sticky notes had a love child, the result would be painters tape. It’s visible, easy to tear, and stays put, but also doesn’t leave any residue behind. It can be used to label stuff and keep cords and wires tied together. If you’re heading over to a hotel for the night, you can baby-proof the room by covering outlets with this tape. Bonus: you can also create indoor floor games like hopscotch, racetracks, and beanbag toss with this stuff. It’s super versatile and will become just as handy as wet wipes in your life.
